How to make an ofrenda
The Ofrenda (offering or tribute) is a decorated area such as an altar or shrine to honor and remember departed spirits.
Things You’ll Need:
The centerpiece is usually a photo of the person to whom the ofrenda is dedicated. Statues of patron saints may also be found.
Calaveras, or skeleton figurines, symbolize the deceased as they were when they were alive. These figures depict their special interests (such as playing the guitar or dancing) and how they physically looked. They represent the playfulness of the Dead, just as they mimic the Living amongst us.
